Come To Steamboat Springs And Visit The Farm

At 7,000 feet above sea level, Snow Diamond Alpacas is surrounded by spectacular scenery, and is just minutes away from the world-class resort of Steamboat. Even our alpacas seem to like the mountainous terrain, owing, no doubt, to the fact that the species originated in the high peaks of the Andes.

Steamboat is known for winter skiing, and indeed the resort is continually ranked among the best ski resorts in the world. But the fun really heats up when the snow melts away! Comfortable temperatures, resort amenities, recreational activities, cultural offerings, great shopping and incredible wildflowers make "The Boat" a fabulous place to visit in the summertime. Once you're here, you'll see why Steamboat's western heritage and endless opportunities for outdoor adventure bring guests back year after year. Learn more about Steamboat Springs.

As you plan your trip to the area, be sure to set aside some time to visit Snow Diamond Alpacas. We enjoy having visitors, whether they’re school groups, 4-H’ers, alpaca breeders, or people who have wondered what it would be like to raise these delightful creatures. We'd love to have you drop by!

And while you're here, make a point to visit our farm store and visitor’s center. If you don’t already know the superior qualities of alpaca fiber (softness, warmth, handle, drape, luster, strength), then get ready for a pleasant surprise. The fine apparel, home furnishings and accessories featured in our store show off this luxury fiber at its best. You won’t be able to get enough of it!

Our farm is 13 miles south of Steamboat Springs, about 45 minutes from Yampa Valley Regional Airport, and is easy to get to (click here for directions).
