Directions To The Snow Diamond Alpaca Farm


From downtown Steamboat Springs:
13 miles, approximately 20 minutes

  • Go east on Lincoln Avenue/US 40 for 4 miles.
  • Turn right onto CO 131 and drive for 6.5 miles.
  • Turn left when you see a brown sign for Stagecoach State Park, which will be County Road 14, a/k/a Hudspeth Lane. Drive for 1.7 miles. Watch out for two 90-degree turns, which come up quickly after you get on this road.
  • At 1.7 miles, you'll come to a crossroad. An old hay barn is on the left; turn right onto County Road 14A.
  • Follow this dirt road for half a mile. (Do not turn left into the subdivision; just keep going straight on the dirt road.) There will be a little turn to the right followed immediately by a sharp switchback, or hairpin turn. After you come out of the switchback, look for the second driveway, which is Snow Diamond Alpacas, #29125. Park at the red barn, which is about half-way up the drive.

From I-70 at Silverthorne:
93 miles, approximately 1 hour, 45 minutes

  • From I-70, take exit #205 - Silverthorne/Dillon and turn north at the end of the exit ramp.
  • Drive north through Silverthorne. The road you're on is called the Blue River Parkway in Silverthorne, but it's also CO 9 North. Follow this road for 36 miles into Kremmling.
  • At the stop light in Kremmling, turn left onto US-40. Follow it for about 47.8 miles. You'll go through Rabbit Ears Pass on this stretch.
  • Once you come down from the pass and get into the Steamboat area, you'll take a left on CO 131.
  • Drive 6.5 miles and take a left when you see a brown sign for Stagecoach State Park, which will be County Road 14, a/k/a Hudspeth Lane.

  • From Hwy 6/US 6 (at the Wolcott Yacht Club), go north on CO 131 for 50 miles.
  • Go through the little town of Phippsburg, then go another mile or so and start looking for the sign to Stagecoach and County Road 14 (a/k/a Hudspeth Lane). It will be a right-hand turn.
  • After driving for 9.1 miles, you'll come to a crossroad. An old hay barn will be on your right; turn left onto County Road 14A.
  • Follow this dirt road for half a mile. (Do not turn left into the subdivision; just keep going straight on the dirt road.)
